How much does a system cost?
There are a number of factors that determine the cost of an irrigation system, including number of zones determined by landscape layout, water pressure and flow. While not all cases are the same, the typical cost ends up being between $900 -$1300 per zone on systems with a minimum of three zones.
Do you do landscape construction?
No, irrigation and landscape lighting is all we do. We do however work alongside some of Calgary’s best landscapers, and would be happy to refer you to them.
How long does it take to install a residential irrigation system?
Usually the installation takes only one day, but in some cases additional time may be necessary.
Will an automatic sprinkler system use more water than I am currently using?
No. In fact, an automatic sprinkler system may actually save you water. A well designed, efficient irrigation system applies exactly the amount of water needed by your landscape.
My property is already sodded and landscaped. If I get an irrigation system installed, won’t it ruin all my grass and plants?
We install our pipe with a vibrating plough that’s minimally invasive to sod. Sod at sprinkler heads and pipe connections is carefully replaced afterwards. We take pride in our ability to install a system and make it seem like no one was ever there.
Will an automatic sprinkler system water as well as I do when I water by hand?
An automatic sprinkler system will do a more efficient job because it will be designed based on your landscapes diverse watering needs, using specific products designed to water grass, trees, shrubs or garden plants.
I have a well. Can I still have an irrigation system?
Certainly. We specialize in pump drawn systems for well-derived water supplies. With today’s advanced technology, there are numerous options available.
Is there any upkeep involved after installation?
We will contact you for the Winterization and are happy to do the Start-up on request.
Will the irrigation system still run when it’s raining?
The installation of an automatic rain sensor is optional. A WiFi module will adjust watering automatically based on Evapotranspiration rates.
Do I need to obtain a permit to install a lawn sprinkler system?
No permits are required for the installation of a lawn sprinkler system in Calgary.
When is it best to install the lawn sprinkler system?
Installation can take place whenever frost is out of the ground – typically from April to October.
Will I save money if I install my own system?
A professionally installed irrigation system will be designed and installed using the most cost-effective and energy-efficient methods possible. The system and results of the system will increase the price of your home.
Where do I shut off my system?
Turn Controller to off. Then locate water shut off in the basement. Turn handle from parallel to water line to 90 degrees perpendicular to water line.
